has anyone ever tried fish oil to induce pregnancy?

its supposed to be like an organic castro oil but im wondering if it has the same side effects as castro oil does…?? im 39 weeks and my cervix isnt doing anything. ive walked everyday for the past 2 weeks, not to mention the past 8 months because i just took my maternity leave from waitressing && im really not into sex right now! please help me have my baby girl already!!!

Hello,
as one of the previous post suggested, your baby will be born ONLY when she is ready. It just seems to me that all the wives tales of things to do to speed birthing time up were only thought of to make us feel like “we are doing something”. However, here are a few things to do if you want to give it a try :) :
-eating spicy food and pineapple (not together!) – makes you go to the toilet, and all this activity in your gut is thought to help start some activity in your uterus.
- walking, walking, walking and some mild exercises – helps your baby to reach the most optimal position for birth, so that hopefully she is pushing on all the right places to move things along. You can try www.spinningbabies.com for more ideas of what to do.
- mop your floors on all fours, and clean your windows – as above, plus, it will keep your house sparkling!
- raspberry leaf tea (not sure what it does?)
- nipple stimulation, sex and orgasm – hopefully will get your uterus moving :)
- have a pedicure, manicure, pour yourself a small glass of wine, light some candles and take a long bath (no bubbles) – makes you relaxed and that will hopefully bring your birhting time closer :) .

Having said all that, please be aware that your “due date” is only your “guess date” and your baby knows best when she is ready. The average time for the first babies to be born is past 41 weeks (yes, this is AVERAGE!!!) and even second babies often go past 41 weeks. My first girl was born 17 days past her due date, second one 8 days past. First time labour started instantly and spontaneously, without any preceding signs, so you can go from zero to hero in virtually no time at all!
It’s so important to remember that these last few days are just as important for baby’s development as every other day during the pregnancy. Do you know that babies shift their energy from growth to neurological development in the final weeks of pregnancy? There is very little change in baby’s size after 37 weeks, but their neurological development skyrockets! Their little synopsis grow and change in ways that allow them to better adapt to life outside the womb. That is why babies allowed to choose their own birthday are less likely to have trouble with the actions necessary to nurse, and are better at self-soothing, plus they can better regulate their own temperatures and do plenty of other things that make their transition to living outside of mom easier and more comfortable for all involved in that transition. [This is the quote from Susan, one of the mums on Hypnobabies Yahoo!Groups].

So just have faith in yourself, in your baby and your body and relax!!! Enjoy the last weeks, days or even hours of your pregnancy with all the challenges it brings you!

And, oh, being so “late” myself, I know how frustrating the well meaning friends and family members can be with their never ending: Not yet? When are you due? When is she going to be born? and so on and so forth… Here is an idea you can send them by email or post on your social networking site or blog. I hope it makes you smile :) ))

Good luck, talk to your baby, tell her how much you want to see her and hold her, and let her know that you are ready to meet her whenever she is! I wish you a fast and easy birthing time. Take care,
